Fantastic! Just imagine what the phones will look like in 10 and 2o years time. I, the Chindian declare that all mobile phones in 30 years time will be implanted in our ears but the marketing departments will pervail by having the mike sets created as a range of earings for the women and cuff links for the men. So declares the Chindian...

And lets not forget how it all started:

and...

Yeah, I couldn't find a good pic of an ATUR phone...

I'm just waiting for phones to evolve into communicator-like badges we can pin onto our t-shirts like in Star Trek :-). Verily, the geek hath spoken. The geek speaketh the truth.

that would be cool actually! better than my ear implant thing. i can just see it, communicator badges in the shape of licensed merchandise - autobot logos, hello kitty, spiderman, doraemon, etc. umm...sorry did i just spoil it for you?

Actually, with the current trend of merging everything into one (our phone is now also our still image & video camera, our MP3 player, our radio, our TV/video player, our PC, our secretary, our GPS devise etc etc), I predict it will evolve into something you can wear discreetly, which is tuned to your DNA so nobody else can use it or read the info in it if they steal it, which can project sound into your ear that only you can hear (make it even funnier when you start taking to yourself without a visible device like a bluetooth headset in your ear), and project a holographic screen in front of your eyes that only you can see. And everything is of course voice (or even brain wave) activated.

It can of course, also be used to pay bills like a credit card and get you through toll booths like a touch & go card, apart from performing all the functions mentioned above.

How's THAT for a geeky communication device? :P

Aiyo. Hello Kitty and Doraemon? That's just too scary. To be avoided at all costs :-)

nex: that's pretty cool, especially the voice activation bit!

Nex! def sounds handy! throw in a GPS and heart rate monitor to to warn u off too many bak kut teh sessions and you're sorted!

Solo! - Hello Kitty and Doraemon are inevitable the minute any licensing deal gets started. Flee! flee for the hills!!!
